Full Guide of Flickr to Google Drive Migration

As many of us may know that the cloud drives have already become the most essential characters in our life, we use them to back up our business files, family photos, school stuff and so on. Different cloud storage can have different uses like we mostly use Google Photos and Flickr to back up our photos and videos, also, our office documents are usually stored in business accounts. However, saving our files in different cloud drives can cause a real chaos, we have to open several windows if we need files from multiple cloud services, or we have to download files from one cloud drive to our local computer first and then upload files to another cloud drive if we want to transfer files between them. In that case, MultCloud, a multiple cloud storage manager, plays a very important role in our life and work.

The Overview of MultCloud

MultCloud is a browser-based app that allows users to migrate online files between cloud drives, it supports various cloud storage with big brands, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, pCloud, MEGA, etc. For companies, G Suite, Dropbox for Business and OneDrive for Business are also on the list. In addition, FTP, Amazon S3, MySQL, Backblaze and WebDav are optional as well.

Three Ways to Move Files from Flickr to Google Drive

Flickr is mainly used for storing media files, but since Flickr only allows each free user to store 1000 of media files, we might prefer saving them to another platform, say Google Drive.

Solution 1. Cloud Explorer Feature

Just like the Windows Explorer, the Cloud Explorer window in MultCloud is able to let you copy and paste files across different cloud drives within a single page, so basically, you just need to choose the files that you would like to transfer from Flickr, after that, paste them to Google Drive.

In addition to that, you can also create folders in the Cloud Explorer window if you are going to store your files to new folders. When you create them in MultCloud, the operations will be synced to the cloud services at the same time.

1. Cloud Explorer

Solution 2. Cloud Transfer Feature

In Cloud Transfer, there’re many options that can be chosen if the destination location contains the same file, including “Directly skip the file, don’t transfer it”, “Always overwrite the file”, “Always rename the file” and more.

Step 1. Choose the source path

When we choose the source, we can select the whole cloud drive and also, we can select multiple sub-folders with the multi-selection option.

2. Cloud Transfer

Step 2. Choose the target path

Instead of choosing multiple sub-folders, we can only select one sub-folder or the entire cloud drive when setting the target.

Step 3. Press the “Transfer Now” button to start the task

Solution 3. Cloud Sync Feature

In Cloud Sync, we are allowed to use the One-way Sync and the Two-way Sync. It also provides other modes, for example, Mirror Sync, Move Sync, Cumulative Sync, Update Sync, Incremental Backup Sync, Full Backup Sync, but they are premium features. As far as I’m concerned, the One-way Sync and the Two-way Sync are fully enough.

Step 1. Choose the source path

Same as the Cloud Transfer feature, we can choose the whole Flickr or the sub-folders as the source path, but only one can be selected at a time.

Step 2. Choose the target path

Different from the Cloud Transfer feature, Cloud Sync does support selecting multiple destinations, but it is a paid option.

3. Cloud Sync

Step 3. Press the “Sync Now” button to start the task

Similarities and Differences between Cloud Transfer and Cloud Sync

Similarities:

  • The Schedule function is supported.
  • The Email Notification function is supported.
  • The task name can be edited while setting the task.
  • Automatically rename the files with special characters and generate a script file.

Differences:

  • Cloud Transfer will migrate the files and folders including the root folder itself.
  • Cloud Sync will migrate the files and folders in the root folder, but the root folder will not be included.
  • Cloud Transfer supports multiple source selections.
  • (Premium only) Cloud Sync supports multiple destination selections.

Summary

MultCloud is a web-based app which supports plenty of cloud drives and it is very easy to handle, we don’t have to spend a lot of our precious time to learn how to use it and we don’t even need to install it on our computer. Usually, we might download our online files to our local computer first and then upload them to cloud drives, but now, with the various options in MultCloud, we can choose the best method to meet our needs and transfer files in only a few minutes. To access and manage all of the online files within just a single window, MultCloud can be the most wonderful choice. Have a try and enjoy it.
